This movie tells the touching story of the “Pilot Choral Society Knurrhahn, est. 1929”. Pictures from past and present show, what makes this choir so unique for both their members and especially their audience.
All the singers are Captains and spend many years at sea. Real seamen, who definitely know what they are singing about. The sea not only is and has been seamen’s rough workplace, but has long been the place of dreams and yearnings.The “Knurrhahn” shanties & seasongs show its complex facets and its meaning to the people.
